Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!

Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.

Special Delivery

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is ready to start the Christmas season!  Today I'm sharing a card I made last year, but somehow never managed to blog.  It features this really cute Special Delivery stamp and the background is Christmas Background both by Stampendous.  I colored the reindeer with Prismacolor pencils and then sprinkled on White Embossing Powder for the snow.

This Christmas Background  stamp is so versatile and can be used in so many ways.  Although patterned papers are fun to use, sometimes it's just nice to make your own.  Stampendous makes a bunch of stamps that make great backgrounds!  You should really check them out for the favorite stamper on your Christmas list!

Thanks for stopping by today - time for me to get going.  Our family is decorating for Christmas today - the boys are so excited!

Poinsettia Thanks

Today I have a quick and easy card to share with you.  This is a great card for mass production!  I made a set of 10 cards in less than 25 minutes!  I'll be giving each of my boys teachers a set in their Christmas gift this year.

To make this card I used the Cling Jumbo Poinsettia and the sentiment is from the Agapanthus Thank You set.  After stamping the poinsettia in VersaMark ink, I sprinkled on and heat set Red Tinsel Embossing Powder, stamped the sentiment and VOILA!  Card done!  So quick and easy!

Thank you notes make a great Christmas gift - especially for teachers!  Why not add a set under your Christmas tree this year?

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by those you love.

Sleigh Ride

I'm back again today with another card using the super-duper cute Penguin Sleigh stamp set by Stampendous.  This set is available at Michaels and you really don't want to pass up a chance to get it!  It's so cute and will be perfect for cards all winter long!  For the snow and the pom-poms, I added a bit of Crystal Embossing Powder.

It's fun to see how different today's card and yesterday's card look - just by changing the color scheme.  Although, I really like today's card, I think I have to say the I LOVE yesterday's card.  The non-traditional color scheme was a lot of fun to work with.  But, really, with a stamp this stinkin' cute, how can you go wrong???  (you can't!)

Time to me to scoot, my friends.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you'll visit again tomorrow when I'll have a great project for quick and easy Christmas gifts.  I have a card that is SO EASY to mass produce...it would be perfect for Christmas cards or thank you notes.

Happy Snow Day!

Brrr....I don't know what the weather is like in your area, but here near Chicago it is COLD!!!!  Today we're supposed to get about an inch of snow. So, this card seems perfect for today!  These little penguins all lined up in their sleigh are just so cute!  This stamp is appropriately named Penguin Sleigh by Stampendous.  It is one of the fun new stamps available at Michaels this season.  For the snow I used Shaved Ice - this stuff is "glitter to the max"! The fun snowflake paper is by DCWV from the Holiday Stack.

Be sure to stop by the Stampendous Blog this week for more inspiration.  Our theme for this week is "Scenic Christmas", so you're sure to be inspired.  In the meantime, run out to Michaels and get this stamp set before it's gone.  It could be used all winter long, not just at Christmas.  I think I'll use it for a couple of birthday cards in January and February.

Thanks for stopping by today - be sure to come back again tomorrow when I'll share another card made with this stamp.

He's Makin' a List and Checkin' It Twice

He's making a list and checking it twice!  Which list will you be on this year?  It's almost that time again - time to get busy making your Christmas cards!  This Cling Jumbo Dear Santa  by Stampendous is a super fun image to color.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set, and I just carefully colored the words I wanted to stamp with a black marker.  These word block images are fun to use as a background image or pick a choose specific words or phrases.  To embellish this card, I sprinkled on some Aged Hunter Embossing Enamel from the Green Encrusted Jewel kit by Stampendous.

This was a fun card to create and will be a fun one to pop in the mail to someone special this holiday season.

All this week, the Stampendous design team is sharing Santa cards - stop by the Stampendous blog for some beautiful inspiration!

Christmas Hugs to You!

Today I'm sharing a card with the super-cute Stampendous Kiddo Toyland. The sentiment is from the Stampendous Toy Train stamp set. All of the supplies used to make this card are available at Michaels.

I just love this little kiddo.  I thought I'd try something different with this card and stayed away from traditional Christmas colors.  I had so much fun making this one.  The papers in the DCWV Holiday stack are all so pretty and fun to mix and match.  After coloring the image with my Copic markers, I added a bit of Stampendous Crystal Embossing Powder.

This card is for a very special little girl.  One of the 3 year olds at the Preschool where I work, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer and is currently undergoing treatment.  We've been sending her cards to keep her spirits up and this one will soon make it's way to her mailbox.  If you could please keep her in your thoughts and prayers it would be appreciated.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Christmas is Coming

This month the Stampendous Design Teams are sharing gift ideas.  It's time to start thinking about holiday gift giving and time to get inky!

The project I'm sharing with you today was shown in the October 2013 Stampendous catalog.  This is the first time I've had any of my cards or projects in a catalog and I am over-the-moon excited!  The catalog is beautiful and I'm thrilled to be a part of it with such amazing artists.  You'll want to make yourself cozy and grab a cup of coffee while you take your time checking out this beautiful new catalog!

The project I'm sharing today features the beautiful Cling Jumbo Grapes stamp and Glory Verse stamp, both by Stampendous.  I colored the grapes with my Staedtler pencils - LOVE them!  I also added Vintage Lilac Tinsel and Amethyst PEARLustre Embossing Powder around the edges.  May Arts Ribbon is the perfect finishing touch!

I'm glad to have one Christmas gift done and ready to give.  I'm sure the friend that I'm giving this to will like it - her kitchen has a vineyard theme, this will fit right in!  Be sure to check the Stampendous blog all this month for more gift-giving ideas!
